Curriculum

Our curriculum provides a broad and balanced educational experience for our students.  We aim to provide all students with the highest standards of teaching and learning, alongside opportunities for personal development and give them encouragement to help them achieve their potential within a supportive, caring and disciplined environment.

Please click on the ‘subjects’ link on the right of this page to find out more about what your child will be learning in Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.  We hope you find this information about subjects useful.

Details of how homework fits into our curriculum can also be accessed from the ‘homework’ link on the right-hand side of this page.

Students study a three year Key Stage 3, giving them a firm foundation of knowledge across a range of subjects which will enable them to make suitable choices for their GCSE courses. These options are chosen in the Spring term of Year 9. Full details of the options process can be found under the ‘KS4 options’ tab on the right-hand side of this page. Please note that the offer of subjects as KS4 changes from year-to-year depending on staffing and demand. We always aim to fulfil students first choices.

If you have any questions about the curriculum at the Sir John Colfox Academy please do not hesitate to contact the office 01308 422291
