On this page you will see a presentation from the headteacher about how the process works, as well as a careers video to help students consider which options might suit different careers. Also, the options subject teachers have created a video about their subjects.   

We will be holding our Options Evening on the 29 January 2025, where there will be a presentation by the headteacher and also a chance to speak to the subject teachers. If you do not want to or cannot attend this evening, please look through the information and watch the videos so that you can make your choices. This is the start of the process, so we know what subjects you would like to take. It helps us to plan for the final options blocks based on student choices. The process will be completed by 31 March 2025.

This is an important decision for your child, so please talk to them and us if you need to get more guidance and support on what might be best.  We make sure that all students do the GCSEs they will need for most post-GCSE courses and employment, e.g. Maths, English, Science, Geography or History. Their option subjects should be ones they have enjoyed doing in KS3, new subjects they have tried out in Year 9 or brand-new subjects they are interested in studying.  If they do this, it will mean they are likely to work harder to get a good grade in them.
