Student Voice

As a ‘Rights Respecting’ School, student voice is essential for students to express their thoughts freely (Article 13).

Student Voice is a chance for students to make a real difference to their school environment and experiences.
Each year, students can apply to become the Chair (or Vice Chair) of the School Council. This role gives students the opportunity to lead the School Council and to feedback to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). All members of the school community are encouraged to vote for their student representatives.

Each term, students hold a ‘tutor forum’ where they discuss the agenda items within tutor time. The
House representatives then feed the discussion back to the House Council meetings. In turn, these feed into the School Council meeting. The School Council meetings then feed back to SLT, communicating the students’ thoughts, feelings and opinions on the topics discussed. Feedback is then provided to students.
